DC Public Library Beyond Words Calendar of Events
Honor and Celebrate African American Achievements
Kickoff Black History Month with Body and Soul: An Evening of Jazz and Art with the Herman Burney Trio and special guest Akua Allrich, and paintings by J'Nell Jordan and Desiree Sterbini on Monday, Feb. 6, 6 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Fun for all ages.

  Experience "The Day of Reckoning", a stage play about a young man who made bad choices, learned a harsh lesson and changed his life. Presented by The Gospel Kids and Teens Theater Group of Zoe Life Ministries, Saturday, Feb. 25, Capitol View Library, 2 p.m. Fun for all ages.

Anacostia Library wins Gold!
The Anacostia Library joins Benning and Tenley libraries in receiving LEED Gold certification for environmentally-friendly design from the U.S. Green Building Council.

New Bellevue Library Opening Delayed
The opening of the new Bellevue Library (formerly Washington Highlands Library) has been postponed due to a manufacturing delay. The Washington Highlands Interim Library will remain open until a new date is determined. Visit the Library’s website for updates.

Rhymes, Rhythms and Stories: A Sensory Story Time

Designed especially for young ones with autism, children will enjoy stories, songs and physical activities, 2 p.m., every second Saturday of the month through June, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Fun for children 3-6.
